Hours
The doors will be unlocked at 8:55am each morning. Children should be picked up promptly when their program(s) have ended. If you are detained, please call us as soon as possible. There will be a minimum charge of $5 for staying after school.
Tuition Payments
Tuition is calculated on an annual basis but is payable in 9 monthly
installments. Each installment is due on the 1st of each month and is
considered late after the 5th. A late fee of $5 will be charged for each day
after the 5th tuition is not received. Non-payment of tuition may be grounds
for dismissal. Tuition payments do not vary during months when there is a
holiday or holiday break, absences (due to vacation, illness, etc.), or
cancellations due to inclement weather.
Snow Days
When Public School District #11 announces a closure or delay due to inclement weather, A Propos Preschool will be closed (no programs, lunch, or enrichment classes). If you are unsure, please call the school beforehand.
Items of Concern
Please do not allow your child to bring toys (unless for Show and Tell), gum, or candy to school. Absolutely no guns, swords, or weapons of any sort are allowed at school, even for Show and Tell.
Health and Safety
Please do not send your child to school if s/he
has a fever or had one during the previous 24 hours
has a green nasal discharge or cannot wipe his/her own nose
has a persistent cough
should not be outside; if you feel this way, please keep him/her home
has symptoms of a possible communicable disease
PLEASE NOTIFY THE SCHOOL AT ONCE IF YOUR CHILD DOES HAVE A COMMUNICABLE ILLNESS.
Please use extra caution when pulling in or out of the parking lot and parking spaces watch for children.
Snack Time
Parents or guardians are asked to take turns providing a nutritious snack for the entire class (including teacher) each school day. Your child's teacher will have a calendar posted, in addition to providing one for you to have at home, with the snack day assignments. Please remember that some food allergies, such as peanuts/tree nuts, are very dangerous and quite common. When your child's teacher provides you with the monthly calendar, she will also provide you with information/details surrounding dietary needs of the students for your consideration.
Miscellaneous
Your child will be receiving more specific information from his/her teacher
once the school year begins. This may include the teacher's policy on
progress reports, clothing, and program schedule. All program schedules
include time for indoor and outdoor physical activity and music appreciation
(singing, dancing, instrument exploration).
We are not equipped to register children with special needs at our present
location. Children registering for the preschool or pre-kindergarten program
must be potty trained (Squirts do not).
Please understand that your enrollment at A Propos Preschool is a contract for
the entire school year. The non-refundable registration and first month's
tuition secures a class position for your child. It should be understood and
agreed that parents/legal guardians are obligated to pay the fees for the full
academic year. Acceptable grounds for withdrawal from school, releasing the
parents/legal guardians from financial obligations, are: military transfer,
moving beyond county limits, grave illness to child, expulsion.
If you have any questions or concerns, or would like a tour of our school,
please do not hesitate to contact us via phone or email. Thank you.
