A Propos Preschool is now open for enrollment to offer a comprehensive kindergarten readiness program for the 2008-09 school year. Our art-based curriculum was developed by our owners and teachers,
Deedle Murray and
Christina Fox. A Propos (a pr 'pO) is French for “timely” or “at the right moment” and reflects our desire to educate children with a balanced approach between academics and creative free play. Our instructors will focus on three areas of a child's development: academic, emotional/social, and physical (gross and fine motor skills). We believe providing a structured yet supportive environment with opportunities for experiential art-based projects in small groups, whole group, and individually, will help prepare the children for their educational futures. By encouraging personal creative expression, children will utilize skills and techniques that include problem solving, judgment, and responsibility, which are vital to a child's self esteem & success as a student.
Celebrations/Cultural Customs
The children will have opportunities to participate in activities and art projects with seasonal themes, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwaanza, etc. (including performances for parents/guardians).
